Apex grading-bound inspection is a documentation-first review for collectors considering PSA, TAG, or CGC submission. It focuses on magnified condition review, centering, visible surface and print concerns, careful handling, imaging, and submission packaging. It does not include wax, polish, pressing, recovery, enhanced gloss, or any process represented as grading-safe.
Apex documents visible surface condition, print lines, scratches, corners, edges, centering, fingerprints, debris, and other presentation concerns. The review gives you a clearer record for deciding whether to submit, hold, display, or request a separate collector-presentation consultation.
Magnified condition review
Front, back, edge, and corner documentation
Centering and print-defect observations
Premium imaging and condition-report options
Submission packaging and handling coordination
What Is Excluded From This Lane
Grading-bound inspection is intentionally separate from collector-presentation finishing and recovery work. No wax, cleaning spray, polish, pressing, scratch reduction, enhanced gloss, structural recovery, or foreign substance is included in this lane.
No grading guarantee
No representation of grading-safe restoration
No promise that a card is eligible for numerical grading
No prediction of a final grade
Why the Separation Matters
PSA publishes altered-card and evidence-of-cleaning designations that may apply when cards show pressing, enhanced gloss, foreign substances such as cleaning spray or wax, or certain restoration characteristics. Review the grading company’s current standards before authorizing any presentation or recovery scope.
Questions, answered
Before you decide
Does grading-bound prep guarantee a grade?
Final grades, authenticity decisions, altered designations, and numerical eligibility are determined solely by the grading company. Apex Cards does not guarantee any grade or grading outcome.
Can Apex submit my card after inspection?
Yes. Grading Submission Handling can coordinate packaging and submission for supported grading companies. Third-party fees, declared-value requirements, and final service availability are confirmed before submission.
Can Apex remove a dent or polish a card before grading?
Those requests belong in a separate recovery or collector-presentation review. Apex does not represent those processes as grading-safe.
Documented first. Scope confirmed second.
Start with the card, not the promise.
Tell Apex what you have, what you want to achieve, and whether the objective is grading, collector presentation, recovery review, or slab care.
